My husband and I initially were looking to obtain a home loan through a major bank. However, upon receiving the news we won the bidding war on a home. We found out our bank could not fully approve and complete our loan in the agreed-upon 21 days to closing. This was after they initially told us they could. Our realtor recommended Envoy and with no introduction or meeting. We had our online application in and Envoy reviewed it very quickly. The team was extremely diligent in their communications. Whether you texted, emailed, or phoned them they immediately got back to you. Between the excellent communication, clear and easy-to-use consumer portal, and the ability to have us fully approved and ready to close in less than 21 days, they were stellar! I would highly recommend them to anyone. Furthermore, they dealt with other hurdles too, including our home insurance company delays and unexpected last-minute surprises, and issues with the Title Company and seller. Sean Hennessey and his colleagues were fantastic!

However?

Last night I received an email from Envoy that they have sold and transferred our loan to another company. I really thought this email was a phishing or scam attempt as the spelling was incorrect and for every dash, it provided a question mark in its place. Furthermore, my husband did not receive this same email only me. However, I wanted to do my due diligence and Envoy did in fact confirm the transfer to this company. I am extremely shocked and dismayed with the company Envoy transferred our home loan too. I would not think such a highly rated company would partner with this one in any way and it makes me sick to my stomach. The company?s reviews are 1.8 out of 5 stars. With Better Business Bureau complaints numbering at 270 complaints with only 56 being closed. Multiple reviews were provided stating newly transferred customers never received paperwork or email communication to assist them with making their first payment. Other complaints include customers making their payment and this company reporting to the crediting agencies that their customers didn?t. Furthermore, the company refused to report a correction. Additionally, customer escrows are mishandled by not making payments to home insurance companies and overstating and understating customer annual escrows.

I know this is a completely different company, and maybe this should not reflect negatively on Envoy?s part. But, after reading these reviews this is very hard to swallow. And, due to it I will have a very difficult time ever recommending Envoy. Sorry, but I expected better of you, Envoy.

Shane made the home buying experience stress free. He walked us through everything that was going to happen. He and his team kept us in the loop every step of the way. By far the best team around. We highly recommend Shane and his team at Envoy Mortgage. We are over the top happy with our experience as a first-time home buyer.
