Rhodes Family

April 21, 2021

Willie Rhodes Senior is a Coal Machine Operator in Mobile, Alabama. Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus, his wife became unemployed when the business she worked for closed. However, she was able to open her own retail jewelry sales business and is now flourishing!

Together, they have many grown children and eleven grandchildren! Willie even has a 12 year-old son who attends an online magnet school, but he is missing his classmates and the transfer was an adjustment. Willie feels blessed his immediate family members have remained healthy and that they were able to grow closer as a family.

Their main struggle as a family was not being able to hug! Willie describes his family as a “family of huggers” and always being surrounded by his nine grandchildren and not being able to hug them was the hardest part!

This year, Willie hopes for the world to start understanding one another and for more outdoor barbeques—and we couldn’t agree more!
