Martinez Family

March 29, 2021

Manuel Martinez is a police officer for the New York City Police Department. He is bilingual and was born in Colombia and came to the United States to live when he was five years old. He has been a police officer for the State of New York for eight years and he describes the past year as the most hectic he has ever experienced in his career as a police officer.

Not only was his department in charge of promoting order during the height of the pandemic, but they also had to lend aid and observe the peaceful protests that occurred. Unfortunately, Manuel also had to work 12-hour shifts to cover for his fellow police officers recovering from the coronavirus. Manuel then caught the virus himself and was out of work for one month.

When he is not working at the police department, Manuel is also a real estate agent in his spare time, representing other police officers.

Manuel is hopeful that his real estate business goes back to normal this year, so he can go back to working on his life’s passion—flipping houses!
