Mallozzi Family

Christine (Chris) Mallozzi and her husband, Richard, moved to Bedford, New Hampshire from Montana during the height of the pandemic. It took them five days to drive and they stayed in hotels between Montana and New Hampshire along the way. When they arrived at each hotel, they wiped down all the hard surfaces to ensure safety and relied on drive-thru meals for the duration of the trip.

Chris has Lupus, an immunosuppressive autoimmune disease, so she must be extra careful and refrain from traveling and visiting family members. Unfortunately, Richard’s grandma died from the coronavirus and they were not able to attend the funeral, which was devastating.

They have two children, a daughter in fifth grade and a son in sixth grade who both attend school remotely and are making friends by playing on a baseball and softball team.

Richard has enlisted indefinitely in the U.S. Army and has moved his family several times while being on active duty.  After graduating high school, Richard signed up for the Marine Corps and spent four years serving. He was on the ship next to the USS Cole bombing claimed by Al-Qaeda in October 2000.

Richard decided to come home and de-enlist after the bombing, but after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in 2001 he re-enlisted in the U.S. Army and has been with them ever since.

Chris says Richard’s soul is in the Army and he just wants to help people through the good, the bad and the ugly.
