Kaelin Family

April 6, 2021

Amy is a “floating” Registered Nurse at Baptist Health Care in Louisville, Kentucky. This means she is placed on any floor in the care center that needs assistance. For the past ten months, Amy exclusively worked on the Covid-19 floor. During this time, Amy unfortunately said she saw more people die in one year than she has seen throughout her nursing career.

Working on the Covid-19 floor she, along with her coworkers, were filled with this horrible fear, anxiety and uncertainty not knowing if they would become sick with the virus. The hardest part for her was speaking to each patient’s loved ones as they were told the unfortunate news.

Amy misses her parents and her brother who both live in New Jersey that she has not been able to see since December of 2019. However, she is blessed to be alive and realizes with all of her children prospering, a son who is in the Air Force and has a baby on the way, a daughter in college studying to become a nurse, and a son with a blossoming NFL career, there are so many reasons to be thankful!
