Irana McNish

September 2, 2021

Irana McNish works at a rehabilitation center in Derby, Connecticut. During the height of the pandemic, Irana was working as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in an assisted living center and enrolled in school to become a registered nurse. The rehab center where she currently works helps patients who leave the hospital, but still require extended medical services.

Irana’s biggest challenge was taking care of those patients who died due to the coronavirus. Unfortunately, 18 of her patients died in the assisted living center. She was upset that loved ones were not able to visit dying family members.

One silver lining Irana experienced was extra incentive pay she received while working at the assisted living center. She was able to use the extra money for her down payment on her home and nursing school enrollment.

Irana shares her new home with her daughter, Ashley. Before closing on their first home they were living in public housing. Her daughter is a preschool teacher and is currently studying to get her Masters in Education. Irana’s son is in the military and is currently station in the U.S. working for the National Guard. He sets up vaccine centers where people can come to receive the coronavirus shot.

Irana’s hope for the future is to purchase a multi-family home to earn additional income. She hopes to use Envoy for her multi-family home purchases because of the step-by-step mortgage education she received.
