Gibson Family

January 26, 2021

During the day, Colleen Gibson is a Residential Care Manager on the floor at Neuro Restorative, a residential care facility specializing in patients who are disabled due to a brain injury. At night, Colleen is a Certified Nurse’s Aide and works with people who have disabilities and are part of the Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts, a civil and human rights movement providing support to people with disabilities and their families.

She has four daughters and all her children have been completely learning online since March, while her husband coaches JV at the local school and is also a Pastor at the local church.

Colleen’s biggest challenge in 2020 was shifting her children to online schooling, but she also believes that it was also her biggest gift as she was able to spend more time with her family.

Possibly, the biggest blessing that came out of 2020 for her family was their new rescue dog. He is a Labrador/Corgi mix and she takes him with her to work as therapy for her patients!

Colleen’s hope for 2021 is that she will be able to spend time with her family doing all their favorite activities outside of their home.
