Fields Family

April 6, 2021

Edward Fields is a Forklift Driver at the Ford Assembly Plant in Louisville, Kentucky. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, his hours were significantly decreased because the plant could not get the parts required to build more cars. Most of the ships sailing from Mexico and China were stopped and many plants closed, causing the work to cease immediately.

Most weeks during the pandemic Edward only worked 20 hours. Unfortunately, due to the reduced hours, he experienced some financial distress during the shutdown. He did not want to lose his home, so he paid his mortgage first each month and is paying late fees on his other bills.

The silver lining was spending more time bonding with his wife and three older children. This November, Edward will have worked for the Ford Assembly Plant for 29 years and hopes to be retired in just three short years!
